January Goals, and Stepping Stones to Bigger Achievements

We had a few accomplishments in January.  Dan benched 200#, Brooke RX’d Annie with less “donkey kick”, and Asher, relatively new to this whole CrossFit thing, knocked off a 2014 goal with a 200# back squat (now he has his sights set on 300#!).  Congrats to all three on setting goals, and seeing them through.

There are a lot of BIG 2014 goals up on the board.  What are you doing to reach yours?  Often to achieve big things several smaller things need to happen, or come together to get there.  If you want to lift a certain weight, or reach a number of consecutive reps by the end of this year try setting intermediate goals.  If your goal is a new movement there are probably progressions and other movements along the way that can help you reach your ultimate accomplishment, and may serve as fine monthly checkpoints.  Need some inspiration?  Ask a coach!

If all else fails, The Open is coming up at the end of February, and there are certainly plenty of goals that can be set to go along with the world’s largest exercise competition.  Get your goals together, get them on the board, and let’s get to work!
