Made the mistake of trying the 36′ box before warming up, bashing my shin. Dumb ass.
So got a bit warmer and Joe suggested I jump off the platform, thereby reducing the distance by a couple inches.
Kye, who is half my size and had just killed the workout in a show of superhuman strength, clarified for me
that jumping off the platform wouldn’t be as hard. I reassured her that indeed she was better at this than I was and I needed
the two inches in order to survive without further mishap.
I made it 5 plus 21 RX less 2 inches.

In your honor, Major Kennedy. Hats off to all who made it RX…

Discretion is the better part of valor. I need a full set of teeth for a meeting today, so opted not to go 36″.

      6 + 1 @ 30 inches and 6 pull ups.

      RIP TK. Nice work 5:30

WOD: 6+4 with 4 dead hangs, 30″ box and 24kg KB

Suffered my first box bite today! I somehow managed to go almost 3.5 years without one but today’s was a good one. Probably spent a full minute trying to walk it off and suppress my fear of getting back on it. Yikes.

Also, the short bar is so perfect for dead hang! I’m so glad it’s back!

    Great work, 5:30!

“TK” = 6+6 w/ red & purple band, 30″ (first time), and 28kg kettle bell. Slow pull ups to keep form.

Thanks to Joe for the rowing and push ups advice as our warm ups today.
