Issuing a Challenge

Tuesday’s workout has a somewhat familiar flavor, and with it, a specific strategy for tackling it.  My challenge to all of you is, once the workout begins, take your hands off the bar no more than 10 times.  If scaled appropriately this should be very doable, and with minimal time spent staring at the bar or wandering around the box.  I know this isn’t 12.4.13_34necessarily the most difficult of challenges, but deciding to get tough with the weight you choose tomorrow will help you get the most out of this workout, and hopefully develop a habit that will ultimately help you get the most out of your training as a whole.

Help put together a care package from CFF!  On Saturday, December 14th, with Garo’s help, CrossFit Fenway is hosting an invasion WOD to put together care packages for 1SG Russ Watts, 2LT Michael Polanski, and 1LT Russell Cotter. All three are deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. We’d like to send a care package on behalf of CFF to show support and appreciation for their service. If you’re donating to the package, no preregistration is required, and the Saturday session can be an extra one for you that week!

TNG PC: 95# not my best strength training effort
WOD: 6:43 at 85# — went heavier than I thought I could, and I held on!

    Fun times, 5:30.

    TNG PC: 170# (PR)
    WOD: 6:20 @135#

Held the bar for the entire first round, then put the bar down twice within each round before the 9th DL and the 6th HPC. Forearms were a bit smoked. Great work 5:30am!

    PC: 155#

Wod: 4:31rx. Holy crap those hang power cleans were way harder than I thought they would be. I think I managed to hang on for the first two full rounds unbroken, and then started losing my grip on the HPCs and doing them in (probably pretty ugly) sets of 3.

    Nice work today 7am!

    What a great photo!

    TNG PC: 140#

    WOD: 6:10 rx

Joe’s strategy of doing 8 deadlifts, dropping the bar, picking it back up at 9 and then going into hang power cleans was great! This is my second favorite WOD now! DT being my favorite. WHO DOESN’T LIKE TO TOSS WEIGHT AROUND AND GET SWOLE??

    Great work, 6:30am!

TNG PC: 115# and I did it easily for 2 sets of 3. I couldn’t move 125# at all though, but I was at least able to hit 115 consistently.

WOD: 6:01 at 95#. I liked this one, too, and it went by a lot faster than I was expecting!

    165# and 7:23 with 135#
Not my best. Did use Joe’s rest method which helped. Gotta get under the damn bar and use my hips more.

    TNG Power Clean = 155#

WOD = 5:04 w/ 105#. Put down once after 8 deadlifts and once at the end of each round.
