3…2…1…BAKE.

This past Sunday, Crossfit Fenway’s most badass cupcake creator made her debut on national television. Adie Sprague and Sarah Waters got the chance to represent Treat Cupcake Bar (http://www.treatcupcakebar.com/) on the widely recognized show Cupcake Wars!

Each week on Cupcake Wars, four of the country’s top cupcake bakers face off in three elimination challenges until only one decorator remains.  The judges decisions are based off of topics such as creativity, presentation, obviously taste, and how well they stick to the theme being presented. The teams were given both delicious and somewhat disgusting ingredients to combine together to somehow make a cupcake that doesn’t look like a 2 year old baked it (how I bake). The theme they had to stick to throughout the competition was keeping the cupcakes kid-friendly, which is coincidentally, right in Adie’s wheelhouse (along with double-unders).

Adie and Sarah CRUSHED the competition every round, receiving mostly favorable comments and positive critiques on their efforts. Unfortunately in the end, it was a southern couple that had been on Cupcake Wars 3 previous times who ended up taking the cake (pun intended).  I think I speak for everyone when I say it was SO cool to see Adie on national television strut her stuff and show the world how talented she really is. I grew up with both Sarah and Adie, so I can’t tell you how awesome it was to see two amazing women I have known since 8 years old, shine in something they are so passionate about.

Also, THEY SHOULD HAVE WON. Anyway, these are some of the delicious cupcakes they made under pressure on the show. If you get a chance, do stop by Treat Cupcake Bar in Needham, MA and tell Adie and Sarah they are talented ladies.

HS – 70kg (75 x 2.5) i feel as though i am finally learning to snatch like a proper weightlifter. not just relying on brute strength and bringing a little bit of technique to the lift.

    WOD – 4+3 Rx.

HS: 29kg, couldn’t make anything over 30 go up… or maybe I just wouldn’t go under it. There’s something about yanking something heavy into the air and then dropping *underneath* it that feels a little wrong.

WOD: 4+2, and left a good chunk of my hand skin on the rings. Sorry about that.
