Here We Go Again

The 2013 CrossFit Games season begins Wednesday evening at 8 PM EST with the announcement of Open workout 13.1.  Discussing/guessing what might come out of the hopper may just be my favorite part of The Open.  Questions like:  Which movements can and can’t be programmed?  How difficult is it to judge?  And, what standards will be used?  All make for interesting conversation, you know, if you’re into competitive exercise.  Honestly, I think I prefer talking about and thinking about the programming to actually doing the workouts.  With the announcement imminent, what do you think it’s going to be?  What do you, or don’t you want to see?  Post to comments.JM_CrossFit_20130202_2526-M

Front Squats, Back Squats, Squat Cleans, Thrusters, Wall Balls, Deadlifts, Kettlebell swings, Split Jerk, Pistols, and an “AMRAP 7 minute Shavasana”. Wrong sport, but I’d go to the games with that one.

In about 5 weeks Erika and I are going to take on SANDWHICHES. I can’t wait.

End of Paleo confession: Giant sandwich from Bon Me food truck + half jar of peanut butter. It was delicious – and I feel like crap today. Getting back on the bandwagon ASAP.

Also just registered for the Open. Hoping for rope climbs, box jumps, running, wall balls, and cleans.

Oh pistols. Thank you for reminding me of all the things I need to work on – flexibility (check), strength (check), balance (check), everything (check). This was a weird work out – everything hurts but I feel like I didn’t do enough do be sore already.

I’m just hoping to not see 11.6/12.5 appear. Or 12.1. I can’t even bear to mention it.

I’d like to see HSPUs, or even just some good old fashioned air squats.
