CrossFit Fenway’s Performance Based Paleo Challenge is back! Practicing consistent, healthy eating habits is ideal year round, but what better time than now, the beginning of a new year to get started?! Whether you’re looking to improve your performance, lose a few pounds, or just get a better idea of what some members of our community do for nutrition, any and all CFF’ers are invited to participate.
The rules are the same as last year, but the workouts will be different. The basics of Paleo nutrition are eat like our hunter-gatherer ancestors used to during caveman times: meats, vegetables, nuts, seeds, some fruit, little to no starch and NO processed sugar. The 30 day challenge will officially kick off Saturday, February 2nd, and end on March 2nd. There will be prizes for the top finishers based on performance in the workouts, and a point system to keep track of in a daily nutrition log. To be eligible for prizes, completion of the workouts, as well as a $20 dollar buy-in are required.
If you’d like to participate, you do not have to sign up for Invasion on Saturday, February 2nd at 11:00am. After the workout I’ll go through how the challenge works, and guest speakers Erica and Evan Saint Clair (responsible for the awesome pics you see on the blog and a sweet paleo cookbook) are coming in to offer more detail on paleo nutrition. Morning Basic Training Classes Available! Beginning Monday, January 14th Basic Training classes will be available on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 AM. These classes are geared towards folks new to CrossFit, and they’re a great way to get started in our program. If you are, or know someone interested in trying CrossFit, but maybe a little intimidated, there’s now an excellent option in the AM to get going.
