Kevin and Ron Throwdown

This past Saturday Kevin Kittredge and Ron Marchessault took on some of the northeast’s fittest over 40 at the Master’s Competition hosted by CrossFit New England.  Knowing the two of them, I’m sure they gave a full effort, and left absolutely everything they had on the paved driveway and rubber mats out in Natick.  Both hit numbers they wanted in the snatch + 3 overhead squat, and max rep thruster events (Ron with 130# and 28 reps, Kevin with 115# and 22 reps) en route to finishes in just about the dead middle of their respective divisions.  Through conversations in person, and via e-mail, both seemed happy with their performances, but not satisfied, hungry for their next opportunities to compete.  I’m very proud of both of them for taking on this challenge, throwing down with some serious competition, and holding their own.

Judges Needed! CrossFit Southie is hosting the Garage Games New England Finals on November 10th and 11th and they need your help! There are 275 competitors throwing down for the weekend and it’s going to be an amazing event. In order to have it run smoothly they need 50+ judges.     I was there on Saturday and Kevin and Ron kicked ass!! There were some beasts who showed up. That competition was no joke. You guys rocked it!

    Ron and Kevin are bad ass and inspirational! My CFF experience would not be nearly the same if I didn’t have Ron to chase in the mornings!

    FS – 130kg
    WOD – 1+3 Rx – pull-ups were way too slow!

    WOD: 110 (45#), struggled on the lunges.

    FS – 135kg 145 went up once but i gave up on it after that…

    WOD – 128 Rx’d it up til I hit the ring dips (red band). with ten seconds left, i should’ve just done them without the band.

    WOD – 140, RXed up until ring dips – I know what my November goal will be!

    WOD: 148 Rx.
    The ring dips felt impossible after the pull ups.

    Congrats Ron and Kevin!! So proud of you guys!!

    FS: 55 kg
    WOD 104 w/ 15 kg and a blue band, and a red band on the rings but I didn’t get to them! Might have gotten a few more but with our crowded class I accidentally set my band up on a bar that I couldn’t reach!
