You may have noticed that we have a pretty cool community of people here at CrossFit Fenway. Some call CrossFit a “cult” and generally don’t get CrossFitters’ jokes about “doing Fran” or why we giggle and say “nice snatch.” There are a few things unique to our box, so we’ve come up with a compilation of “You Might Be a CrossFit Fenway Athlete.” Enjoy, and of course share your own!
You might be a CrossFit Fenway athlete if…
…the smell pizza reminds you of running.
…you are among the few Bostonians that dread Red Sox home games.
…you also love Red Sox home games, because that means no running.
…you know all of the words to all of the songs on the Maroon 5 and Flo Rida Pandora radio stations, as well as most of the beeps, rumbles, and other noises on the Skrillex station.
…you can do the “world’s greatest” stretch forwards, backwards, upside down, blindfolded, and in your sleep.

…you speak in kilos better than pounds.
…you look forward to hard work, sweat, pushing yourself, and working out with friends in an awesome, encouraging environment.

Split Jerk: 55kg
WOD: 2+31
Split Jerk – 120kg
WOD – 2+78 Rx – the burpees were tough!
Nice work 5:30
I love everything about this blog. It’s all true and now, I want pizza.
Split Jerk: 55kg because, well…the rain.
WOD: 2+178 with unbroken singles and front squats and hair that just didn’t want to stay up but I ignored it because EVERY second counts.
You don’t have doubles? C’mon now.
I need to practice these. I can do a single, then another single, then a double. I will get them. November goal my friend.
Great blog – love that you speak kilos. Makes my life so much easier!
Split jerk – 35kg – not great
WOD with 25sit ups for D/U, burpees were more one legged hops over the bar rather than jumps, 27kg front squat.
Need to get my calf sorted as it is getting very irritating now. Probably should have gone a bit heavier with the front squat.
But – I did get my first kipping pull up! Thats one of octobers goals done.
Split Jerk – 59 KG
WOD: 2+10
Also, I ran my first 1/2 marathon sunday with a time of 1:58 which was a shocker, I had expected to be somewhere around 2:15. Huge thanks to Claire who I ran into around mile 7 and kept me on pace the rest of the way when I probably would have dialed it back if I was on my own!
SJ: 195# or 88.6kg
WOD: 2 rds +81 Rx
Hit the wall somewhere during that 3rd set of burpees. I liked this one.
SJ: 70kg – and still had more to go, but ran out of time.
WOD: 2 rounds even @ 60kg
In the first round I had a PR of 50 consecutive DUs (over my previous record of 42). Didn’t know if I should keep going for a new record, or stop and move onto the bar facing burpees. I stopped at 50, but it left me gassed for the burpees. Tough one, right there.
SJ: 70kg
WOD: 2+54 @ 60kg
SJ – 100kg
WOD – 2+55 Rx. MAJOR case of ‘eff this ess’ today. weird. instead or resting, it seemed any time i spent ‘resting’ was more me just telling myself not to quit. don’t rightly know the reason either. there’s always tomorrow though.
SJ – 45 kg
WOD 2 + 80 w/singles and 66#
