New crossfit first: crying during a WOD. Only a tiny bit, during the third round of pull-ups when I no-repped my 12th and wasn’t sure I could get another. A few tears of channeling frustration into one last pull. Thanks to everyone who cheered when I finished… means a lot ;0

    PP – 34kg (couldn’t get past 2 reps @35, next time)
    WOD – 13:20 (12kg kb, blue & red bands)

No worries Brennan. We’ve all been there. It was awesome to watch you fight through it and finish it up! Great job!

If it were easy, it wouldn’t be CrossFit.

You don’t even want to know the number of times I’ve cried at the gym! Just remember, you’re only going to get better at this! Great job working through the pain!

I consider Crying Through A Workout one of the skills I’ve learned at CFF. There’s a lot to be said for learning how to get the work done in spite of losing your shit mentally. CROSSFIT LIFE LESSON.

Brennan it was amazing watching you fight for those last reps. Way to get after it!

    • Brennan on October 11, 2012 at 2:15 pm

Haha, thanks for relating, everyone :) Walking home, head high, marked by sweat & grime & a few tears = totally why I love crossfit.

Not much else during the day can compare.

      • jen on October 11, 2012 at 3:26 pm

Great work on that wod – I have to say that I was close to crying during those pull ups. Was having one of those days

    • Jen G. on October 11, 2012 at 5:58 pm

There is no worst feeling than falling the last rep nad not thinking you can finish.

And you weren’t crying. Your eyes were sweating. :)

    PP: 47kg
    WOD: 11:53 Rx

Brennan – I’m right there with you. Helen was frustrating. Highlighted my kipping deficiencies – guess I’ve got my goal for the rest of October. BUT you’ve been bringing 1000% to every class, staying after and working on your goals. In short, Brennan, you rock!

  3. Scott R on October 11, 2012 at 9:13 am

    PP: 70kg
    WOD: 13:14 w/ purple bands

  4. Brian on October 11, 2012 at 9:53 am

A few modifications due to a bum shoulder:
    LBBS: 92 kg
WOD: 8:54 with 28 kg american swings, 6 ring dips instead of pull ups

Stacey’s warmup was so exhausting I didn’t even have the energy to complain about it. Great job 6:00!

  5. Phipps on October 11, 2012 at 11:00 am

    PP: 70kg
WOD: 10:01 Rx – Would have loved to have broken 10:00 but my forearms were fried. Next time.

  6. Caroline C. on October 11, 2012 at 11:33 am

Oh bummer, I love Helen. Wish I were there!

However, CrossFit Bridgewater has made me feel right at home. If any of you are around here, feel free to stop by!

  7. kk on October 11, 2012 at 1:30 pm

    PP: 65kg (67kg x 4)

Helen: 10:39 Rx (i got in for my last round of pullups at 9:30 and had no business being over 10:00 at all. my pullups suck. think this wod will force me into some physical therapy on my shoulder. this performance was unacceptable).

  8. jen on October 11, 2012 at 3:30 pm

Push press – 32kg – managed 4 at 33kg but could not get the 5th out.
But as my previous 1 RM was 32kg and 3RM was 25kg there is some improvement there

Helen: 11:33 with 500m row and red band- Slower than last time I did it which is very annoying, but I ran last time and used the purple band for the pull up. Hopefully will be able to get back to running next week.

  9. Shane B on October 11, 2012 at 5:19 pm

PP – 90kg – still having issues with my right shoulder
Helen – 11:33 Rx – almost a minute and a half slower than the last time I did this…not good

Good to be back after a week off due to being sick
    Nice work 5:30

  10. Joe Bracken on October 12, 2012 at 1:23 pm

Did the 7pm Helen. Posting here so I can remember where to find my time for next time.

13:52 Rx – first Rx on this WOD.

  11. Cynthia on October 12, 2012 at 1:46 pm

Helen: 11:24, with one new red band. Next time I hope to go faster and RX-er!
