Remember the first CrossFit Open?  All the way back in 2011?  This Friday we’re taking on the second workout from that six (actually seven) week test of fitness again.  The entire competition was well programmed, comprised of couplets and triplets with a broad spectrum of movements and time domains.  Good stuff.  The events were even dual programmed in pounds and kilos for ease of use.  Join us for a trip back in time on Friday as we remember the good old days of 2011.

9 Deadlifts (70kg(155#)/45kg(100#))
12 Hand Release Push-ups
15 Box Jumps (24″/20″)

    I remember watching/volunteering for the 11.2 event held at the old CFF. Good times.

    Squat Clean: 75kg

    WOD: 8+14 Rx. Those pesky push ups had to be broken up early. Really slowed things down. Great job Rx’in by everyone in the 6am!

    Those 15 minutes were looong. Good stuff 6 am.

    squat clean: 115#. I’m pretty sure I’ve hit 125# before, but today had lots of trouble at 115#. Thanks to Erika for helping me overcome some fears and get more aggressive.

    wod: 6+17 Rx. Deadlifting yesterday didn’t make today fun. And I need to work on those silly push ups!

    Squat Clean: 60kg – Not my best effort. My arms and shoulders are so tired from the workouts this week.

    WOD:
    04/01/11 – 6+15 Rx (well…. maybe the hand release push ups weren’t that legit)
    12/19/11 – 6+4 Rx (legit hand release push ups)
    08/24/12 – 6+23 Rx

    Thanks to Coach Erika for the tip on breaking up the hand release push-ups early. I didn’t feel like I needed to break them up in the first couple rounds, but I did anyway. That definitely saved me in the later rounds.

    Oh… and thanks to Danielle for the DIRTIEST BREAK EVER!

    This was my first regular Crossfit workout (I did two basic training classes this week). Awesome. I’m Erika was great having me practice the components of a squat clean, so I hope to do the full movement with weight soon. For the WOD, I had modifications of 30″ dead lift and the green box (gah! I’ll work in this, wanna jump the 20″ soon!!!)

    But, I still made 6+2.

    I am so stoked about Crossfit. See y’all for the the invasion tomorrow.

    Squat Clean – 110kg. 120 just wasn’t gonna happen today, legs/hips/arms=cooked.

    WOD – 7+12 Rx. missed my first box jump ever (that i can remember at least), it made me realize i wasn’t paying attention…to the box i was jumping on to…over and over and over. sometimes i’m an idiot.

    Squat Clean: 65 kg (best I’ve felt doing this movement in a while. ran out of time to try to go higher.)

    WOD:
    12/19: 7 rounds + 9 Rx
    8/24: 8 rounds Rx

    Squat Clean: 39kg Only the 2nd time doing this and more than doubled the weight. Form felt pretty good.

    WOD: 4 rounds + 20 Rx WOOHOO, my first RX!!!!!!!!!!

    Okay, some of the last push ups were admittedly somewhat suspect and if this were the Open, I may have heard a few “no reps”. Pleased with this Friday workout!

    Squat Clean: 55kg, it was fun falling down at 60kg…literally…who doesn’t like to laugh?

    WOD: 7+3 RX, stopped way too much, so good to be back!

    8/24/12 – 9 rds + 21 RX

    aiming for 10, but legs were just gassed on box jumps. Deads and push-ups felt fine.
