The Beantown Throwdown is sold out. Thank you to all the teams, and all of the volunteers that have registered so far. E-mails will be sent in the coming days to finalize details, and hopefully help to streamline game day. As of now, plan for the first heat to go off at 9 AM on Sunday, August 12th, with athlete registration opening at 7:30 AM. The workouts will be announced the Monday evening before. Fenway Park Spartan Sprint on November 17th, 2012 the creators of the Spartan Race series are turning Fenway Park into a 1 mile Spartan Sprint obstacle course. It’s in our backyard, and rumor has it another local box is putting a team together, so let’s represent! Kevin Kittredge has agreed to lead the CrossFit Fenway team, so please contact him in the next week if you’re interested. More race details are available here.
Hyannis Hyball Invitational is a charity softball game being put together by CrossFit Fenway’s own Sean O’Connell to benefit the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization. WOD: 9:29 – scaled to 50 double unders. Pretty happy with this as this was the first time I didn’t scale to singles. Something started to click – before today I could only get a couple doubles in a row if I was lucky.
HSC: 50kg (same as my lovely training partners brooke and jess–safe travels Brooke!)

HSC: 45kg – Was getting the technique by the last two sets, it totally feels weird.

I think my Aug goal will be stringing together doubleunders since I was able to do some in the WOD today.

WOD: 13:58. Didn’t finish the DUs before the 6 minute round 1 cap, only made it to 35 DUs + 45 singles (50 equiv). Second round, did 35 DUs and 195 singles.
