The 2012 Olympic Games begin in London later this week, and with them there will be many incredible stories of dedication and sacrifice in order for athletes to achieve their Olympic dreams.  This video, sent to us by Jon Chin, features such a story about one man who fought through great pain, so another man would have an opportunity to compete in the Olympics.  And it’s all brought to you in some fantastic accents.

That is an awesome and inspirational story of sacrifice. Thank you for sharing.

    Snatch DL: 100kg

    WOD:
    April 2012: 9:27 Rx
    July 2012: 8:23 Rx

Got the wall balls unbroken, but burpees still sucked. Great job 6am!

SDL: 65kg. I was having a tough time keeping the bar against my legs today

    WOD:
    April – 12:39 Rx
    July – 10:23 Rx.

I’d like to thank the Dark Knight Rises for the inspiration. I somehow went unbroken on my set of 21, which was miraculous!

    Snatch Deadlift: 105kg

    WOD:
    April 2012: 10:57
    July 2012: 11:24 (RX)

Although time went down, considering I went from 14# to 20# within a few months and am now RXing, I’m happy with the improvement. =)

    Snatch DL: 90kg

    WOD: 11:23 Rx

Burpees were a bit slow – but definitely feel that consistency is improving on higher rep WODs.

Hey all! I had an awesome time visiting CrossFit Firestorm in Chicopee, MA today (http://www.crossfitfirestorm.com/). I highly recommend anyone visiting this area to stop in and visit.

The box was great, the people were awesome, and the coaches were knowledgeable and on-point. In other words, everything I would have expected and then some! They were lovely and welcoming. I’m planning on going at least one more time while I’m away from CFF and snagging a photo.

    Guest WOD:

Helen: 19:47 RX – I was really flying through the first half, but then the week of horrible food almost made me lose my lunch and I had to take a few minutes. Yargh! Body felt good though, and OMG it felt good to be in a box!

Also: Larabars are awesome. Thanks Eric – how did I not know this before?? I kept turning the bar over and over because the ingredient list seemed improbably short! ^_^

Also: I am long winded. You all probably noticed already.

    Miss you guys!

SDL: 75kg Found that chalking the tops of my thumbs greatly helped my grip success

WOD: 18:51 Rx Glad to be on the 14# ball. Erica’s “fairy dance” helped me miss fewer wall balls than usual (3-4 whole workout instead of per round). Thanks!

  11. Dan P. on July 23, 2012 at 8:19 pm

    Snatch DL: 130kg
WOD: 9:26 Rx – Very mental WOD.

  12. Mike G. on July 23, 2012 at 9:11 pm

SDL – 135kg got my grip going a bit better this time.
WOD – 11:40 Rx. I blew 4 consecutive wall balls in the 2nd set which was very frustrating. Ready to try it again…

  13. Joe Bracken on July 24, 2012 at 12:33 am
