The recent heat wave, which seems to be in the final stages, and is hopefully the last of the season, has certainly served as another major hydration reminder. When we sweat, it’s more than just water, and over the last few days there’s been quite a bit of sweating going on. Yes, it’s important to drink plenty of water, but it’s also critical that you’re getting enough electrolytes and other nutrients. Electrolytes such as sodium and potassium are critical to muscle, brain, and bodily function.
Think of the warning signs of dehydration (headache, light headedness, nausea, cramping, etc.) like the fuel light on your car. We don’t want to see the light next to the “E” flashing on our dashboard, and we don’t want our body’s warning system to be set off either. Take care of yourselves. Fuel properly before and after every workout. If you don’t have fuel in the car you won’t have opportunity to crash the car.

Another out-of-box post pertaining to July goals! Also evidence that CrossFit works!
I did my Army fitness test this morning. Although I didn’t max every event, which was my intended goal, I improved in all areas including a personal PR in the push-ups. I also took 40 seconds off my 2-mile run time from last year, coming in at 14:58 (a substantial personal PR).
My primary training for the event? CFF!
Even though I didn’t get a max in all events, I’m really happy with the improvement. Especially the run, which was almost a minute faster than top score.
Thanks all for inspiring me during every workout! I miss y’allz!
congratulations! that’s amazing!
CC THAT IS AWESOME! A sub-15 minute 2 miles is amazing! I’m just trying to get to 14 on my 1.5 for my Air Force fitness test. Way to geaux!
Congrats Caroline!! Great progress, very impressive!

Power Snatch – 35 kg…more like “power form,” gotta get the form down first!
WOD – 6+2…happy to have a break from burpees and do push ups instead.
Stacey and Eri had awesome warm ups! Who wouldn’t want to “walk on the wall.” Think we did this as kids, maybe broke a few lamps. Eri’s looked like a video game come to life.
Great work everyone!

[...] Caroline C. improved in all areas on the Army test. Her goal was to max out her score, but improvement in all areas is certainly notable. You can read a bit more about it in the comments here. [...]
