I’m very excited to be able to host, program, and put on our first competition at CrossFit Fenway. This is something I’ve wanted to do for some time, and now we have the space to welcome the greater Boston CrossFit community into out home.
On Sunday, August 12th we invite teams of 2 men and 1 woman to compete. The first heat will go off around 9 AM, with athlete registration and other administrative details preceding earlier in the day, with the goal of getting everyone on their way for some post-game, celebratory beverages no later than 4 PM.
There will be no scaling, but, without giving too much away… athletes can expect classic CrossFit style workouts, with corresponding traditional loading prescriptions. Capability in bodyweight/gymnastics movements will also be important.
I’m proud to be able to open up our box to our friends in the area, and I want the CrossFit Fenway community to get involved in a big way. This is our event. If you’re interested in being a part of it as a competitor, judge, or volunteer, please e-mail me. I’m looking forward to a great Sunday in August.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3S06vm3Pkg
OHS: 45KG and failed at 47.5 but if I wasn’t already over the alotted OHS time, I think I could’ve hit it.
WOD: 8:21 Rx. My bear crawls are SO SLOW. It’s more of a saunter.
OHS: 40kg – I can definitely squat more weight. Just wish I could hold it above my head with some semblance of confidence.
WOD: 9:13 with purple/red bands. Time to dump the red band.
OHS: 53kg
WOD: 9:21 (used the thinnest red band I could find – used it as a kind of placebo!)
OHS: 39kg
WOD: 12:25 Rx (First 9 pull-ups unbroken. Woot!)
OHS: 50kg
WOD: 7:30RX — unbroken pull ups all 5 rounds saved a lot of time. my bear crawls are kinda wimpy…teddy bear crawls
do you mean TEDdy bear crawls, “Mandy”?
OHS – 90kg (100kg x 1)
WOD – 6:44 Rx
Nice work 7AM
OHS: 60kg

OHS: 27kg

OHS: 50kg attempted 51.5, but couldn’t rack it
WOD: 10:18, blue band
SO BADASS, you OHS ninja.
OHS: 29 kg, after some tips from Sam this started to feel alright!
WOD: 10:02 with blue and red bands
Out of box WOD! There’s a CrossFit here, but I’m not going until after my Army test. I did go to the gym though:
OHS: 27kg PR (yeahhh out of box PR!)
Out o’ box WOD: snatch practice with 20kg, 20 pushups, 30 situps, fast 2 mi run.
Funny story: at they gym on the post, I asked the manager before I did OHS – some gyms frown on over the head stuff. He asked me what they were and I explained and he said it’s ok as long as I know what I’m doing. Then he proceeded to apologize profusely for asking me what they were. I think I scared him ^_^
OHS: 32kg (PR) Wobbly, but Mary said I got depth. I’ll take it! (Thanks for the help, Mary!)
WOD: 11:19 RX (Had a red band ready to go. Midway through the workout, I threw it off because I didn’t want to tempt myself to use it. First pull-up WOD without a band!)
OHS: 80kg. might have had 85, if I hadn’t..well..dropped it.
WOD: 7:19 rx.
OHS: 55kg – little sore from TMNE over the wknd…
WOD: 9:04 Rx
OHS: 45 kg
WOD: 14.04 with one red band and a lot of weird noises.
IT WAS A FUN WEEKEND.
