Turkish get-ups are a great accessory exercise for Olympic weightlifting, as they’re excellent for developing core-to-extremity, total body strength. Sounds like something CrossFitters would be interested in. The get-ups are a small, but valuable part of our skill/strength work for Wednesday. The combination of balance and strength required to execute a proper Turkish get-up is useful in improving our ability to stabilize in an overhead position. This stability is essential to a good snatch or jerk.

HPS: 30 kg (my PR is 40, but I found the grip on this one challenging)
WOD: 5 rounds with 25 kg and 25 singles
Happy Birthday Pope and Lilly!
Apologies to everyone who saw my hands before I showered.

Great job 6am!
Happy birthday Pope and Lilly!
HPS: 66 kg
The turkey: 12, then down to 10, then 8 because my shoulders would not cooperate.
AMRAP 7:
6+3, RX… because I have some of Erika’s genes.
Good job CrossFitters, and Coaches for teaching this new “move” we don’t often see. Today’s WOD was about doing movements that don’t come naturally (for me), as say a Split Jerk or a simple jumping jack. And, today was also about not being a cherry picker CrossFitter who sees a challenge and goes to Yoga instead.
I’m a liar. I meant HPS: 32 kg, but wouldn’t that be so cool if it was 66?!
HPS: 55 KG
Turkish get-up: 20 KG KB
WOD: 7 rounds @ 40 KG
HPS/TGU: 60kg, 45# dumbbell
WOD: 42kg, I’m *pretty* sure 8 rounds, but wouldn’t bet a large amount of money on it (lost count around round 4 or 5). I’d say, like 85% sure…otherwise 7.
HPS: 35kg (PR)
TGU: Completed 5 on each arm w/ 25#; then did 3 on each arm w/ 30# (the left arm was the weak one)
WOD: 6+3 @ 25kg (RX)
HPS: 45kg
TGU: 40#
WOD: 6 + 8 rounds
