Tuesday we’ve got a whole lotta push pressin’. First we’ll be reviewing technique (explosive hip extension) and going for a heavy set of 5. Then we’ve got 70 reps at a relatively light weight on the push press as part of our conditioning workout. The load we’re using during the metcon on the push press is the same used during Fight Gone Bad, so this serves as an opportunity to practice for the September 25th main event (details below).
Skill: Muscle-ups
Strength: Push Press 5-5-5
WOD: Complete 2 Rounds for Time of:
35 Push Press (35kg/25kg)
35 Pull-ups
35 Kettlebell Swings (32kg/24kg)
35 Toes to Bar
Announcements
Fight Gone Bad has raised more than $2 million in its first four editions. This year LIVESTRONG, Wounded Warrior Project, and the CrossFit Foundation are benefiting from the fundraising efforts. On Saturday, September 25th we’ll be running our heats. We’ve raised a combined $3,821. Register today, and join the fight as part of the CrossFit Fenway team.
Vanessa’s moving out west to pursue new opportunities. Next week is her last in Boston, but she’s giving the going away presents, and offering 1 hour massages at the discounted rate of $72 until she leaves town.
The Sox are still at home Tuesday, so there’s no free parking available in the lot around CrossFit Fenway during evening classes.

Thanks. And yes, today’s workout definitely exposed a serious deficiency in my grip strength.

WOD: 28:35 Rx – not my finest performance.
Got mobility? Check out Kelly Starrett’s new blog: http://mobilitywod.blogspot.com/
I’m doing this WOD as we speak, it hurts haha. But if the reward is a little coconut juice w/ some rum, then I’m gonna give it hell haha.
Don’t go in the pain cave, bro.
Great find. Starrett is a genius and his work is as entertaining as it is informative.
I’ll definately be adding the mobility WODs to my daily routine from here on.

Heavy kb swings, hips were loaded.
Push-press — 31.5kg for 5, failed on the 5th rep @ 32kg. Ughhh. Need to get that movement faster.
WOD — 25:08 with a bunch of scaling
Quite the all-star lineup at 5:30, it would have been fun to watch if I hadn’t been flailing around on a bar…
AND I just noticed some sweet push-press bruises around my collarbone…WIN.
quite impressive showing for the 5:30 class
PP: 60kg
WOD: 31:52 – took my damn time…..HA!
PP: 40kg
WOD: 24:25 and rx on the push press but a lot of them were jerks. :) 70 pull-ups with a green band were progress for me!
