Return of Rast

July 19, 2010
By

Steve Rast, one of the founders of CrossFit Fenway is back in Boston for this week.   Trainer Steve left his perspiration on the rubber flooring long before many of us had a chance to make our first sweat angel at the box.  In addition to his size, strength, and skills with a sawzall, Steve’s also a Level II Certified CrossFit Coach, with lots to share.  Be sure to stop in and say hello.

July 20th 2010

Skill: Agility Drills

Strength: Clean

WOD: Compete 4 rounds for time of:
15 Dumbbell front squats (45#/30#)
10 Burpees

Registration for Fight Gone Bad 5 is open.  This event has raised more than $2 million in the first four editions.  This year LIVESTRONG, Wounded Warrior Project, and the CrossFit Foundation are benefiting from the fundraising efforts.  Sign up, and join in this great community event as part of the CrossFit Fenway team.

Please e-mail Eric if you’re registered to run in the BAA Half Marathon, and/or you’re interested in joining the CrossFit Fenway team for the Spartan Race, so we can get organized for these two upcoming events.

The Sox are out of town Tuesday, so we’ve got parking all day at CrossFit Fenway.

Trainer Steve is the reason I joined CFF… Mostly because he knew where I lived and I was too afraid to say no to him. He’s not gonna be around tomorrow morning, is he?

Trainer Steve WILL be around tomorrow morning, working with some of our interns. He is so handsome and cool, and we’re so lucky to have him here this week, and I should really make sure to log out of the computer when I leave.

      HAHAHAHA. Awesome.

    WOD: 8:23 (25#)

I compared it to 4/26…then it was 8:24 with 20lbs., so I’ll take it.

This WOD made me cry…literally. Over 10 min with only 20#s, I found myself incredibly frustrated and angry. Then I remembered, this is CrossFit…the good, the bad, and the ugly. If the “bad” and “ugly” days don’t happen, how will I know I’m getting stronger?
