Football Gone Bad

July 15, 2010
By

Friday’s name workout includes our skill of the week, double unders, but it’s not Annie.  Football Gone Bad is CrossFit Football‘s answer to Fight Gone Bad.  The movements are a little different, but the concept is the same.  Bring your helmet.

July 16th, 2010

WOD: Football Gone Bad

In this workout you move through five stations for one minute each for three rounds.  A one minute break is allowed between rounds.  The stations are:

1. Dumbbell Thrusters (45#/35#)
2. Box Jumps, 20″
3. Push-ups
4. Double Unders
5. Calorie Row

The clock does not reset or stop between exercises. On call of “rotate” you must move to the next station immediately.  One point is given for each rep.

Registration for the Spartan Race is currently available, but the price goes up by $10 after July 18th.  This 5K featuring “outrageous obstacles” should be a fun little challenge.  Please let us know if you’re interested in signing up, as we’re trying to organize a team, or teams to represent CrossFit Fenway.

The Red Sox are still home against the Rangers Friday, so there’s no parking during the evening classes at CrossFit Fenway.

    WOD — 144pts (25# DB thrusters)

Points were low, but I was (mostly) pleased with this showing for two reasons:
    1) I pushed hard and stayed as close to Rx as I could
    2) I got my FIRST LEGIT BOX JUMPS

It took over a month for me to be able to get over the fear factor on this one, and I threw up a big ZERO on the board the first round, but finally came around. Now I have to get a jump rope for home and work on double-unders.

Great work everyone at 5:30, as well as everyone I saw at 6:30 (love the platform shower)!

You know it…it’s becoming more of a hate/hate than love/hate thing, but oh well. I suggest some sort of Rick James-esque celebration at the end for the survivors.

    • Tiffany on July 16, 2010 at 12:11 pm

Whoa! You are freaking awesome!! Nice job Haley!!
(also sad to say I am a burpee dropout)
