Everyone loves a quality training montage (it really gets taken to the next level at the 4:47 mark), but what makes a good training montage great is the music.  Some might try to tell you that you shouldn’t need music to get fired up for a workout, I’m not going to be that guy.  I’ve probably heard more comments about the music at CrossFit Fenway than I have about the programming.  I understand that my tastes are for the most part pretty standard CrossFit fare (lots of Rage Against the Machine), and not necessarily for everyone.  If you’ve got music that you want to hear while you workout, bring us a CD or your iPod/iPhone/iPad and we’ll give it a try.  Hey, if I like it I’ll probably buy it and add it to my current 300+ song mix, most of which admittedly sounds the same.  If I can change, and you can change, everybody can change.

Sarah Whiting is heading to the Pineland Farms Trail Running Festival and is offering rides, if anyone else would like to give it a try.  Anyone who wants to should be able to find a race, as there are several of varying distances.  This is another great way to put your training to use in a fun, challenging event.

New Services! – CrossFit Fenway is finalizing arrangements for having a few wonderful massage therapists on staff to help you all feel better after a good workout (or anytime). To help us better serve you, please send us an email or post to the comments below about when YOU would most like to have a massage at CFF? Before or after class, and which classes/times? Weekends?

The Red Sox are wrapping up a two game homestand against the Twinkies, so there will be no parking Thursday evening.

Programming Note: There will be no evening classes this Friday, May 21st, and no invasion Saturday, May 22nd, as we’ll be headed to Albany to cheer on Stacey, Erica, and other friends of CFF as they compete in the Northeast Regionals for the CrossFit Games.

One of the best training montages ever made!…..and as far as I can tell, one of the earlier examples of crossfitting!

19:46 modified (rings rows subbed for push ups)

Awesome work today 7:30, particularly Jon and 1st timer Corey!

Finally went to a physiatrist (a non surgical MD that specializes in sports injuries . . . nope, I had never heard of one before either! LOL) and got the confirmation that my left shoulder is totally ganked. One cortisone shot and 2 – 3 weeks of no push ups, pull ups, or overhead lifts. UGH!

I’ll definitely miss doing those movements for the next few weeks but at least it’ll give me lots time for tons of sit ups, ring rows, squats, and DLs! :)

Jon, great way to scale up… I never think to do that, good strategy on getting faster/stronger – I might have to look into those weight vests that James has.

I like your choice of music – I have actually gone and bought some of it.
